iPhone® App Development

Launched in 2007 the iPhone from Apple quickly became one of the most popular smart phones of all time with over 70 million sold worldwide.  Incorporating a sleek stylish design and a multi-touch display the iPhone has built a passionate following around the world.

Five iPhone models have been released so far and with each model came a new version of Apple’s mobile operating system iOS.  Originally developed for the iPhone, iOS is now used across all of Apple’s mobile and entertainment platforms such as the iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV.  Unlike Google’s Android operating system iOS is not licensed for installation on non-Apple hardware so applications can be built to fit within the fixed guidelines and product specifications.  This simplifies the development process making building and testing easier than on other mobile platforms.

The iOS user interface is based on the concept of direct manipulation with the use of multi-touch gestures such as tap, swipe and pinch to control the applications.  iOS devices also contain hardware peripherals such as cameras, an accelerometer, gps and compass allowing you to build location based services into the phone application.  For example a company with several stores in the UK could use location services to display a map of the stores and a list of the ones nearest to the user’s location.

Add Image have been developing mobile apps for Apple's iPhone platform since 2008 and have worked on a range of projects from simple company branded utilities to marketing apps, mobile optimised websites and location based tourism applications.
